Redefining Financial Freedom Through Building

CryptoBlockchainDeFiFinancial FreedomPersonal Journey

A personal journey through markets, burnout, and the discovery of crypto as a path to creative and financial freedom.

Where I’m Coming From

I’ve been deeply immersed in the world of crypto for a while now.
If you’ve followed my journey, you know I explore and create around blockchain tech, cryptocurrencies, security, and finance.

But lately, I’ve had something on my mind...

Writing these words in the middle of market chaos isn’t easy.

And honestly? It’s because it feels like most people stopped believing in the idea of financial freedom in 2022—and for good reason.

After the euphoric bull runs that followed the COVID crash in 2020, and the absurd valuations and fundraises of 2021, 2022 became a brutal return to reality.

What Even Is Financial Freedom?

Bitcoin

Most people define financial freedom as:

  • Doing whatever you want, whenever you want
  • Buying what you want without stressing over a budget
  • Not depending on a 9–5 job to survive

You get the idea.

These definitions are common—and valid—but let me offer a different lens.

To me, financial freedom means:

The freedom to build what I want, whenever I want.

What Do I Mean by “Building”?

Building is about creating something valuable—something that matters to someone.

Now, “value” can be a loaded philosophical term, but for our purposes, let’s define it simply:

Value is anything important to someone.

You might say, “But you don’t need to be rich to build something.”

Exactly. That’s the point.

All you need is your mind, a bit of dedication, and a vision.

Start creating value, and you'll soon discover that financial independence isn’t a far-off dream—it’s a natural byproduct of building with purpose.

Why Crypto?

When I graduated from university, I had no clue what I wanted from my career.

I studied electrical engineering and worked in hardware, but something felt off.

I felt burnt out.

So I started exploring... and I stumbled on a deceptively simple question:

“What even is money?”

Why does a dollar bill have value? Who decides it’s worth more than another piece of paper? Why do some people accumulate so much of it while others don’t?

These questions drove me deep into the world of finance, trading, and investing.

I built a statistical options market analyzer, which helped me detect signs of the 2021 mini-crash—and even hinted at what would happen a year later.

It worked.
Kinda.

But something was still missing.

All of this felt like people trading pieces of paper representing stocks representing companies building intangible technologies.

It felt artificial.

And Then Came Crypto...

“Psst… dude… have you heard about crypto?”

I first heard of Bitcoin around 2012–2013 in obscure online forums.
But I never dove in—until much later.

The terminology was confusing:
Staking, Proof-of-Work, ERC20, AMM, Dapp, Oracle, Blockchain, Decentralization (God forbid).

I was determined to figure it out. I had to.

And when I finally did, everything clicked.

Crypto, and more specifically blockchain, answered many of the big questions I had about money, value, and systems of trust.

It felt like a breath of fresh air.

It felt real.

And no—it wasn’t because I made a fortune buying dog coins.
It was because building in this space felt liberating.

My Goal — And How It Might Help You

My goal is simple:
To build, and share the journey with you.

I want to share my passion for crypto, and yes—my criticisms too—so we can collectively imagine and build something better.

You don’t have to take my word for it.

I want you to be part of the process.
To explore and discover what financial freedom means for you.

Crypto may not be your endgame, but I believe it can reveal something valuable to anyone who seriously engages with it.

In Summary

Blockchain technology is a cornerstone for shaping a more trustworthy, open, and permissionless future.

Discovering crypto gave me direction—and I hope I can pass that spark on to you.
